Dog Licensing
All dogs, over the age of six months, must be licensed in the Town of Oxford. Licenses must be renewed annually. Licensing season begins in January of each year. Failure to license as required will result in a $50 fine per animal.
If you NO LONGER own an animal or have moved out of Town, please let us AND your current veterinarian know.
PLEASE NOTE: Cats are no longer required to be registered!!!

All dogs over six months of age must be licensed, and the license must be renewed annually. Annual re-licensing begins in January and are due no later than April 30th of each year. Rabies certificates must be provided at the time of licensing.
Licensing Fee
- Licensing fee per intact dog: $15.00
- Licensing fee per spayed or neutered dog: $10.00 (must provide a certificate of spay/neuter)
- Late fee (effective May 1st): $10.00
Licenses can be renewed by mail, online or in person at the Town Clerk's Office. To renew by mail, complete the dog license application and mail the following:
- Completed application
- Current rabies certificate if recently administered and not on file in the Town Clerk's Office
- Spay/neuter certificate if not on file in the Town Clerk's Office
- Check or money order made payable to "The Town of Oxford". If spayed/neutered the fee is $10.00, and if not altered $15.00
- Self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE)

To renew your license online, please select the correct license type when you pay online. There will be a $.50 fee per transaction for electronic checks, a $2.50 convenience fee for MasterCard and Discover, and a $3.95 convenience fee for VISA.
Kennel Licenses are due by April 30th of each year.
Kennel License Fee
- 4 dogs: $30
- 10 or fewer dogs: $40
- More than 10 dogs: $50
Kennel Licenses cannot be paid online.
