Whether you require a license or special permit in the Town of Oxford for animals will depend on the type and quantity of animals that you intend to keep.
If you are planning to have chickens and/or ducks (females) in combined quantities of six or less, you must obtain a license issued by the Board of Selectmen. If you are planning to have more than six chickens or ducks, or any other animals, other than customary household pets, you must obtain a special permit issued by the Board of Selectmen.
