March 29, 2021 - Osprey have returned and are in and out of the nest.
March 25 , 2021 - Modem firmware updated and cables tightened. Camera turned on and functioning.
June 29, 2020 - Camera stopped working. Due to Covid pandemic, we cannot go up to diagnose.
June 6, 2020 - Severe storm and one of the chicks, either the oldest or middle, was caught under sticks and did not survive.
May 27 or 28, 2020 - third egg hatched.
May 25, 2020 - second egg hatched
May 23, 2020 - first egg hatched
April 22, 2020 - third egg laid.
April 18, 2020 - second egg laid.
April 16, 2020 - first egg laid.
March 31, 2020 - Live camera turned on and functioning. Osprey are back and using the nest.
September 27, 2019 - Camera turned off for the season
exact date that Chick#2 fledged was not observed.
July 19, 2019 - Chick Number 1 fledged.
June 18, 2019 - Chick#3 died in nest.
May 30, 2019 - third egg hatched.
May 26, 2019 - second egg hatched.
May 25, 2019 - first egg hatched.
May 16, 2019 - new modem installed, camera functioning.
April 26, 2019 - camera stopped working.
April 23, 2019 - third egg laid.
April 19, 2019 - second egg laid.
April 17, 2019 - first egg laid.
March 29, 2019 - Live camera turned on and functioning. Osprey are back and using the nest.
September 27, 2018 - no sightings of the birds for several days. 2018 was a successful season for the osprey with three healthy fledglings. These three young osprey should return to the Greenbriar area in 2020.
September 11, 2018 - at least two of the young osprey still using the nest
July 24, 2018 - 3rd chick fledged
July 22, 2018 - 2nd chick fledged
July 18, 2018 - 1st chick fledged
June 25, 2018 - camera functioning after modem troubleshooting and replacement. Three healthy-looking chicks in the nest, approximately 3 to 4 weeks old.
August 30, 2017 - Last sighting of the osprey.
July 29, 2017 - The chick fledge at 58 days old.
July 13, 2017 - The female continues feeding the chick.
July 3, 2017 - The chick was self-feeding.
June 28, 2017 - Second chick died.
June 26, 2017 - Youngest chick died.
June 5 or 6, 2017 - Third egg hatched.
June 3, 2017 - Second egg hatched.
June 1, 2017 - First egg hatched.
May 19, 2017 - Camera functioning again - three eggs in the nest.
April 30, 2017 - Camera stopped working.
April 28, 2017 - Two eggs in the nest.
April 28, 2017 - Camera turned on with new power supply.
April 10, 2017 - Modem re-installed but power supply damaged.
April 5, 2017 - First siting of the birds. One osprey on the perch and three other osprey in the air.
September 30, 2016 - Camera turned off for the winter.
September 21, 2016 - Last sighting of the juvenile osprey.
September 18, 2016 - last sighting of the adult male; female already left.
August 11, 2016 - Chick fledged.
July 9, 2016 - The second chick died. The oldest chick appears to be healthy and thriving.
June 25, 2016 - One of the chicks died.
June 19, 2016 - Third chick hatched.
June 17, 2016 - Second chick hatched.
June 15, 2016 - First chick hatched.
May 14, 2016 - Third egg laid.
May 11, 2016 - Second egg laid.
May 7, 2016 - First egg was laid.
May 5, 2016 - Both osprey in and out of the nest all morning.
May 4, 2016 - New modem installed and camera turned on for live viewing.
May 2, 2016 - Modem not working and removed from the utility box.
April 25 - May 2, 2016 - Wireless connection not functioning. Working with Verizon and EarthCam to resolve.
April 22, 2016 - Scheduled data and camera to be turned on.
April 22, 2016 - First report of osprey at the nest.
