Message from Fire Chief Laurent R. McDonald

Laurent R. McDonaldWelcome from Fire Chief Laurent R. McDonald

The Oxford Fire and Emergency Services is proud to serve the residents and visitors of the Town of Oxford, Massachusetts. With the leadership and support of the Board of Selectmen, Town Manager and Finance Committee, The Oxford Fire and Emergency Services is working to expand the service we provide to meet the ever-changing needs of our community.

In addition to the internal monthly fire and emergency medical services training we provide to every firefighter each month, we are constantly seeking opportunities at local, state, and national levels to hone our skills and grow our core expertise. This knowledge rewards us with the ability to provide effective responses that are optimally safe for both firefighters and citizens alike.

We continue our commitment to safety with regularly scheduled inspections and plan reviews for all new and existing construction projects. The Oxford Fire and Emergency Services also provides fire and life safety education at numerous events each year. We work to keep our young students and elderly population safe through our Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) and Senior SA.F.E programs. We conduct fire drills in the school at least quarterly. We take every opportunity to educate our residents and visitors about extinguisher use, the benefits of fire sprinklers, and other safety-related topics throughout the year.

On behalf of the men and women of the Oxford Fire and Emergency Services, I invite you to browse through our website to familiarize yourself with all the services we provide. We take great pride in our beautiful town and are committed to doing our part to keep it the progressive and safe place it is to work and live.

Sincerely,

Laurent R. McDonald, Chief
