Walnut Street Shim & Overlay

  • Complete Project Name: Hot Mix Asphalt Shim & Overlay FY2025
  • Project Description: The Town resurfaced the road pavement on Walnut Street with a shim and overlay, and an overlay on a portion of Brown Road.  Both the shim and overlay consist of hot mix asphalt (HMA). The road was shimmed with HMA to create a uniform cross section, and then overlayed with HMA to create the new driving surface.
  • Project Goals: Provide a uniform cross section and profile on the roadway to the extent feasible, provide structural improvement, reduce wear & tear on Town’s fleet, and significantly improve rideability for all roadway users.
